Kellye graduated from Husson University with a bachelor's in psychology in 2009 and a master's degree in Occupational Therapy in 2010. She then went on to work in a variety of healthcare settings including outpatient orthopedics, outpatient pediatrics, inpatient hospital and school-based services. After 10 years of working in her local community and gaining clinical experience, she started Function First Therapy, LLC with the intent to better serve the local community with occupational therapy services.
Sara has had the joy of being a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for 11 years. She earned her degrees from the University of Maine's Communication Sciences and Disorders undergraduate program in 2009, and their graduate program in 2011. Before graduation she applied for and accepted her dream job in early intervention. As an early interventionist and an SLP, Sara continues to learn the latest evidence-based practices and to refine her skills in assessment, parent coaching, and telehealth. Sara has specialized training in Newborn Behavioral Observations (NBO), the Hanen Program: It Takes Two to Talk, and infant mental health.
Olivia graduated from Husson University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration & Public Health, and in 2022, she completed Husson's Occupational Therapy master's program. Olivia has experience with home health care and pediatrics. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Abe. She also likes going to the beach, reading, and going shopping. Olivia's favorite thing about being an occupational therapist is getting to be a part of someone's journey of becoming the best versions of themselves. Olivia is excited to have the chance to give back to the amazing community that she grew up in.
Nicole is a graduate of Husson University where she earned a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2006 and went on to earn her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2007. Since graduating she has worked in acute, subacute and outpatient settings. She has spent the past 16 years gaining valuable experience treating pediatrics, sports medicine, neurologic, orthopedic, and post surgical cases. In the past, Nicole has been recruited by local job sites to present on ergonomic techniques and preventing workplace injuries.
Alexa is a new graduate from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a double minor in Child Development and Family Relations and Interdisciplinary Disability Studies. She recently obtained her license to become a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. Working with kids has always been a passion of Alexa’s as she has experience working with primary school-aged children through a summer school program and as a youth sports coach in her hometown for the past 5 years. She is excited to be joining the team at Function First Therapy and is eager to learn from her fellow colleagues. Alexa takes pride in being part of such a special time in someone’s life and can’t wait to make her mark in this profession as an SLPA.
Lauren graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant program 2023. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant she graduated from the University of Maine in 2019 with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education after which she spent her time teaching elementary physical education before changing careers. Lauren enjoys teaching new skills to children and providing them with a positive and comforting atmosphere to be themselves while they work to achieve their individual goals. Outside of being a PTA, Lauren enjoys time at home with her two children gardening, hiking, rafting, and baking. She's excited to start her career in pediatrics with the local community surrounding Function First Therapy!
Carolann graduated from Husson University with a Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2016. She has since provided school-based services for multiple years and directed her own early intervention practice and childcare center for 6 years. Carolann is passionate about early intervention and is always learning more about the most up to date evidence based interventions in order to make the most out of treatment sessions. She has specialized trainings in Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing, and other common early childhood diagnoses and treatments. Carolann is excited for the opportunity to join the Function First Therapy team and make a positive impact in our community.
Anna, has a degree in Liberal Studies from Southern Maine Community College, and an associate degree in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program from Kennebec Valley Community College. She has past experience working as a school-based therapist for grades K-12. Anna is very excited to expand her knowledge through taking on both children and adults alike in the outpatient setting. She is a lifelong learner, and is always ready to try new things! When Anna is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adventures boys outside; fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming and biking.
Lisa graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College in 1995 with her associate degree in the physical therapy assistant program. She also became a certified lymphedema therapist in 2003. Lisa has spent the last 25 years working in a hospital-based outpatient therapy setting and loves this patient population. In her free time Lisa enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with friends and taking advantage of every chance she gets to visit her grandchildren! Lisa is excited to join the Function First Therapy team and continue to provide quality care to patients in our community.
Amber graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College in 2009 with an associates degree in Speech Education. She has past experience working in an outpatient pediatric clinic and in a school-based setting as a Speech Therapy Assistant. For the past 5 years, Amber has dedicated her time to managing a local childcare facility. When Amber is not hard at work, she enjoys spending time outside hunting, fishing and camping with her husband and two dogs! Amber is excited to join the Function First Therapy team and is looking forward to growing as a SLPA practitioner.
