School-Based Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy
Function First Therapy, LLC specializes in pediatric school-based occupational, physical and speech therapy services. We use standardized testing materials to evaluate a child and identify their needs. We then develop a personalized plan of care based on the child's needs and the team's concerns. Interventions for the child focus on some of these areas: fine-motor skills, gross-motor skills, muscle weakness, sensory processing needs, executive functioning deficits, self-care inabilities, fluency difficulties, literacy deficits, speech and sound production, expressive and receptive language needs, gait disturbances, balance and coordination challenges and poor posture.

Pediatric Telehealth Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy
Function First Therapy, LLC provides pediatric educational-model and medical-model telehealth occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy services. We complete an in-person evaluation using standardized testing materials to assess the child and identify their needs. Once the evaluation is completed we work collaboratively with the school or family to develop an individualized plan of care based on the child's needs. Interventions target the child's fine-motor challenges, sensory processing needs, executive functioning deficits, self-care inabilities, fluency difficulties, literacy deficits, speech and sound production challenges, expressive and receptive language needs, underdeveloped play skills, concept knowledge shortfalls, social language barriers and gait disturbances, balance and coordination challenges and poor posture. Follow-up occupational therapy and speech therapy sessions are then carried out via telehealth.
If you believe that telehealth services are the right fit for your child and family, all we need is a doctor's script to get things started. Make sure to call your insurance company to determine if telehealth services are covered under your health plan.
Pediatric Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy Consultation
Function First Therapy offers pediatric occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy consultation services. These services treat children through the coaching-model. Consultation services do not include in-person follow-up therapy sessions and are not billable through insurance companies. Initially we complete an evaluation using standardized testing materials to determine your child's needs. We then connect with you via phone or email, to provide OT, PT and speech consultation services creating a schedule that fits the family's needs. During consultations we provide helpful techniques and activities for you to carry out with your child, that work toward your child's therapy goals. We check in with you frequently on your child's progress. Interventions for your child focus on fine-motor challenges, sensory processing needs, executive functioning deficits, self-care inabilities, fluency difficulties, literacy deficits, speech and sound production challenges, expressive and receptive language needs, underdeveloped play skills, concept knowledge shortfalls, social language barriers and gait disturbances, balance and coordination challenges and poor posture. Follow-up occupational therapy and speech therapy sessions are then carried out via telehealth.

Pediatric Outpatient Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy
Function First Therapy offers medical-model occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy services at our pediatric outpatient clinic, located in Pittsfield Maine. The space features a sensory gym used for occupational therapy treatments including a rock wall, slide, sensory swing, monkey bars, ball pit, tactile table and more. It has ample space that houses a large mat table, treadmill, free weights, pully system and recumbent bike used primarily for physical therapy treatments that focus on stretching, sports injury recovery, strengthening and gait instability. It gives access to imaginative play manipulatives, turn taking games and an array of books that creates the perfect avenue for developing speech and language skills. The clinic is the ideal space to receive one-on-one tailored therapy services as it provides five private treatment rooms and one semi-private treatment room. Children who receive therapy at our outpatient clinic are assessed using standardized testing materials to identify their needs. We then work alongside your family to develop an individualized plan of care based on the needs of your child and family's overall goals. Follow-up occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy sessions are carried out at the clinic while having access to its amenities.
